The recent easing of COVID-related restrictions will see even more businesses getting back to work — which means more Brandcrush activation partners are ready to welcome you with a range of low-contact activation opportunities.

Here’s a quick breakdown of the recent changes, state by state:

In Victoria, public gatherings in small groups (>10 people) and in homes (<5 people) means that co-working, sports, and retail shopping are all back on the table, as long as social distancing is maintained. For now, restaurants and cafes are still only open for takeaways, while public pools and playgrounds are a no-go.

In NSW, public gatherings in small groups (>10 people) and in homes (<5 people) are allowed. The state has also opened playgrounds, and cafes and restaurants can seat up to 10 patrons at any one time as long as they comply with the four-square-metre ruling.

In QLD, restrictions have eased even further with regional travel for recreation up to 150km from home now permitted. Queenslanders are able to gather in small groups (>10 people ) in many settings including parks, restaurants, cafes, beauty salons and public libraries. Public pools and parks are also fully reopened.

In WA, from Monday 18 May, gatherings of up to 20 people are permitted. Cafes, restaurants, community clubs and casinos can have up to 20 dine-in people seated as long as they can observe the 4-square-metre rule. Community facilities and libraries will reopen, capped at 20 attendees, as will fitness classes (indoor or outdoor) so long as there is minimal shared equipment. Workplaces are being encouraged to re-open now too, with no need to restrict employee numbers so long as increased hygiene and distancing is maintained.

In TAS, from Monday 18 May, gatherings will be permitted for up to 10 people in public, or up to 5 people in homes. Retail stores will be open, as well as beauty services with limited patrons. Restaurants and cafes, including restaurants in pubs, hotels and RSLs, will be allowed to open for up to 10 customers with social distancing.

In SA, gatherings of up to 10 people are allowed, provided there is enough space to keep 1.5 metres apart and observe the four-square-metres rule indoors. Campgrounds and caravan parks were re-opened on May 11. Restaurants and cafes can seat up to 10 patrons outside, while public pools and community spaces have reopened for gatherings of up to 10 people.

In ACT, cafes and restaurants will be able to reopen with 10 seated guests from 16 May. Playgrounds, dog parks and outdoor gym equipment, as well as some national parks and reserves, will also be open for socially-distanced use. Community centres and halls can host gatherings of up to 10 people, and library doors will reopen.

In NT, low incidence of COVID-19 has meant fewer restrictions than other states. Since May 1, playgrounds, parks and public swimming pools have been open. Retail has been operating, while pubs, restaurants, cafes were only open for takeaway. From 15 May, restaurants, bars, beauty parlours, libraries, museums and outdoor sports training are all back on the table — so long as they keep to a two-hour limit and strict social distancing in adhered to. On-site indoor and outdoor guided tours and live shows are reopening, with indoor guided activities capped at two hours.
